    Description

    Key to the Talking StoryBooks at the San Francisco Zoo
    Talking Story Books were a key operated box in front of the animal enclosures at many zoos which gave a 1 minute narration about the animals , where they are native to and what they eat.
    Audio Trek was the first company to
    install
    the Talking StoryBooks at this zoo in about 1960.
    Lost in history is why their system was removed or modified and this "
    Lollipop" style replaced it.
    Even more of a mystery is who this company was.  They did the same at Oakland Zoo and other SF Bay venues.
    Eventually, these were removed after a few short years and the elephant style key system was re-installed.
    Red keys
    of this style was prominent and the blue ones was a bit more rare.
    These keys are becoming rare and collectible.
