The containers have a "small hole" on the sides at the top (as shown in the pics) which allows for the tabs on the lids to be locked in place on the container to go along with the snap on lid for extra holding power.
NOTE: The possibilities are endless on what these containers can be used for just keep in mind due to the small hole at the top where the lids can lock in place do not allow these to be 100% airtight or spill proof.
