Description
This vintage silver tone (magnetic) metal, 12-1/8" diameter souvenir tray is in very good condition, with minor wear and finish loss, but no dents, bends, or discoloration. It pays homage to Padre Junipero Serra, founder of the California missions, with images of six of the original missions, and the Church of Our Lady (Queen) of the Angels (1814), located in Los Angeles. The church is on the site of the original Los Angeles Assistant Mission (sub-station), founded in 1784, which quickly fell into disuse. The image of the statue of Father Serra shown was erected in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, in 1907, and torn down by George Floyd protestors in 2020. The mark shown reads 'England For G.F.L.of S.F., Trade Mark', with a kangaroo, which I could not identify. The tray weighs 8.6 ounces.
