Description
Here is a very nice set of 6 Saturday Evening Girl's, Paul Revere Pottery mugs. They each have a landscape medallion with green trees, a lake, and a yellow sunset or sunrise sky. The mug bodys are banded in two-tone blue. Family provenance is as follows: this is from a set made by Lilly Shapiro for her friend Lillian (Levin) Lewis, sister of Stella (Levin) Kaye (who also received a dinner set on the occasion of her marriage) in the 1920s. They are in great condition with only a couple minute rim nicks and no other chips, cracks, repairs or firing flaws. They measure about 3 1/4 inches in high, 3 1/8 inches in diameter, and 4 1/4 across the handle. In 1923 the name Paul Revere Pottery was incorporated and after that date pieces were marked with a die-stamped seal, or the ink-stamp like these are. A good set of New England Arts & Crafts art pottery.
