Imperial SPUN Reeded Whirlspool 701 Pitcher and Glass Set Steigel Green - 9 Pc
Stunning Imperial Spun Pitcher and Tumbler Set in Steigel Green (blue-green) circa 1930s. The pitcher has a clear glass handle which contrasts beautifully with the color of the pitcher and the (4) tumblers have a curved shape that is both functional and gorgeous.
The Imperial Glass Co was founded in 1901 in Bellaire, OH. It continued operation until 1973 when it was sold to Lenox. The Spun Pattern, 701, was introduced in 1936 and continued through the 1960's. It was originally introduced as drinking sets, but it's popularity brought about an extended line including vases, glasses and other pieces. The pieces were produced in a multitude of colors including amber, black, cobalt blue, green, milk glass and crystal. The pattern is also known as Whirlpool and Reeded.
The pitcher and tumblers are free of cracks or signs of notable use. There is ONE fleabite on the top rim of ONE of the tumblers. Please refer to the photos for condition.
Approx.:
Pitcher - 8" tall, 6" diameter (widest point) and holds about 80 ounces
Tumblers - 5" tall, 3" diameter at top rim and holds about 12 ounces
