Beautiful and Very rare Imperial glass bowl from the company's Art Glass line, this cylinder vase is an example of stretch glass , sometimes mistaken for Carnival glass due to its iridescent finish. Unlike carnival glass, which is noted for its many heavy and ornate patterns, stretch glass have an iridescent matte finish with very simple design work if any at all. Another indication of stretch glass are the obvious stretch marks that are visible in the glass and can be seen in this piece as well and is the origin of its moniker. This vase is marked with the Imperial Iron Cross mark , only a few pieces were produced with this mark. The application for this mark was filed on May 19, 1920 and approved August 16,1921 however Imperial was using this to mark pieces before the approval date and discontinued its use in the late 1920s. This vase was manufactured sometime between 1920-1929. This bowl has a manufacturing flaw that resulted in a small exposed bubble. Something that is common for glass this old There is in excellent condition, there are no chips, missing pieces, cracks, scratches, or stains.
