Description
These four items all date from the late 1930s based on the pile of stuff they came from. First is a brochure for the observatory at Mt. Wilson. Interesting, Stage Fares from Los Angeles are .50 for a round trip. There's a clue to the age of this document. Next is a Chamber of Commerce brochure from the city of Santa Monica. What is most interesting is the link between this community and the movie colony in the area. In fact, it gives the house numbers for famous actors whose houses face the ocean. See the photo. Next is a larger short document which touts the Santa Barbara County Courthouse which relates its history. Nice pics. Last is a brochure for the Rancho la Huerta in Ensenada, Baja, California, Mexico. Looks like quite the watering hole for Los Angelenos looking for an escape. It claims the ranch is owned and operated by Americans. Also included are three photo postcards of the rancho.
