DESCRIPTION
A splendid antique gold Victorian Etruscan Revival enamel porcelain demi parure or suite of pendant and earrings. Circa 1840s-1880s, likely French in origin. Metal is at least 14K gold (acid tested), but likely 15K. Magnificent miniature painting with so much detail in three-dimensions using beautiful colors of light pink, blue, green, brown and white. The pair of earrings and pendant, taken together, depict scene of winged-angels (cherubim) guarding over a strolling or dancing maiden carrying a flower.
The pendant with a central portrait of a graceful maiden hand-painted enamel on porcelain, and framed in consummate Etruscan style ornamentation in bi-color gold (yellow gold and hint of green surrounding the porcelain). With gold drop decoration that swings freely. The top of the pendant has an Etruscan bail that accommodates a thin chain but a gold jump ring is added to accommodate a thicker chain.
The earrings each with a portrait of a winged cherub floating on clouds framed in Etruscan style ornamentation of wire and bead-work decoration. The earrings fitting fold over so that they dangle and sway. Back shows evidence of solder likely due to a later replacement of a gold-filled ear screw.
Measurements: Pendant: just slightly above 2-1/2” long (top of Etruscan bail to bottom of the gold dangle) by 7/8” inch wide at widest area. Earrings: 1” x 5/8”.
Weight: 16.35 grams (overall).
Overall very good condition as seen on photos. Painting is all intact. Please examine the photos closely and enlarge them for details. The photos are an important part of the description. RETURN POLICY
Although we opted out of Ebay's 30-day return policy, we will accept returns on a case-by-case basis provided that: (1) Buyer notifies Seller of intent to return within 3 days after delivery of the item; (2) the item is returned within 3 business days after notice is provided; (3) the item arrives in the same condition as provided to the Buyer with no damage or alteration; and (4) the Buyer pays all shipping cost including insurance, which can be waived by the Seller.
