    Description

AMBER IMPERIAL GLASS REISSUE CAMBRIDGE # 3400 IND NUT DISH OPEN SALT CELLAR DIP
Please Note: This item is now free shipping!!!
This lovely little 4 footed individual nut dish or salt cellar was made by the Imperial Class Company, formerly of Bellaire, Ohio.
After the Cambridge Glass Company closed in 1958, Imperial Glass purchased their molds in 1960.
This piece was re-issued by Imperial in the 1960s or 1970s and was made in the original Cambridge mold.
This piece made by Imperial is much more of a “cupped up” shape than the original Cambridge pieces were.
I am gradually selling my salt cellar and individual nut dish collection that at one time was over 1,800 pieces.
This particular piece has been in my collection since 1981.
This exact shape is pictured as Photo # 533 in the book
    5,000 Open Salts
by William Heacock & Patricia Johnson. The original # 3400/71 pieces are pictured as Photos # 411, # 627 and # 774 in this same book.
Specifically this piece was originally the Cambridge Glass # 3400/71 - 3” Individual Nut Dish.
The original piece is pictured on page 31-4 (from 1931) of the 1930-1934 Cambridge Catalog Reprint and on page 148-A of the 1949 THRU 1953 Reprint
I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability.
Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color.
However, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or with requests for additional pictures.
I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
I want your transaction with me to be exactly the way I want mine to be when I am the buyer.
    AGE AND CONDITION:
    Circa 1960s – 1970s.
It is in excellent original condition.
Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.
There are no chips, flea bites, scratches, repairs, cracks or any other obvious signs of wear.
There is some extremely minor roughness to the mold seams on the toes (it just wasn’t properly fire polished from the factory).
I also see a bubble in the glass that is visible in some of the photos.
Please keep in mind these photos can be blown up at least 8X-10X times normal, so anything you see will look 8X-10X times larger in the photos than it really is.
Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.

    APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:
    About 1.625 ounces (48 grams).
