Signed by the Secretary & President of the Board of Directors back when it was the governing body of the bridge.  Today the district has evolved into a ferry service and bus line.  Bridge opened to vehicle traffic in May 1937, The toll was 25 cents!  This example even has the embossed seal for the Golden Gate Bridge Bridge Highway District.  . . . .    Bond # 33988 & 33989  . . .   Quite an accomplishment as the raising of funds was during the "Great Depression".  What an engineering marvel that has stood the test of time!  Issued July 1935 . . .
