Colorful fold-out map of the Carson Pass Area in northeastern Callifornia, published by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company in 1969.The map opens to 23½" x 18" and locates PG&E's public campgrounds, picnic areas, and powerhouses in the Sierra Nevada of Amador and Alpine Counties.
Among the named places and features are Tiger Creek, Salt Springs Reservoir, Amador City, Mokelumne Hill, Blue Lakes, Carson Pass, Drytown, Cook's Station, Buckhorn Lodge, Electra Powerhouse, State Route 88, and the Silver Fork of the American River.
The text on the reverse side includes a brief history of placer mining in the area, with an old photo of a mine near Jackson, circa 1885.
